Join TRANSFORM in supporting impact enterprises to Survive & Thrive throughout COVID-19

We are delighted to announce the launch of TRANSFORM Survive & Thrive: an initiative that provides early- and growth-stage impact enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia with finance and business support to help them recover from the disruption caused by COVID-19.

For five years, TRANSFORM has been working with impact enterprises to help them develop and refine commercially-sustainable business models that generate real impact. We’re now extending this support to other enterprises tackling the COVID-19 crisis, as well as looking to other organisations to join us.

We’re calling on other organisations to get involved

We’re looking to other organisations – including public, private and non-profit partners – to join us and broaden the reach and impact of the TRANSFORM Survive & Thrive initiative. This is crucial to safeguarding the future of impact enterprises that have high potential to accelerate sustainable and inclusive development.

We are seeking contributing partners who can provide a range of support including convening power and access to broader networks, business support through tools and resources, provision of essential products or services, and funding to ensure enterprises can react to headwinds efficiently and effectively.

Survive & Thrive offers comprehensive support

Through the TRANSFORM Survive & Thrive initiative, impact enterprises can receive support and access to finance to help them survive and ensure business continuity, and to thrive by pivoting to deliver COVID-19 response efforts while developing more resilient business models.

The TRANSFORM platform already contains a suite of tools and resources to support these enterprises with business-critical issues and processes, from strategy to financial planning to marketing. Of course, we recognize that commitments and contributions from additional organizations will only serve to strengthen the platform and bolster the level of support available to impact enterprises.

Why a generation of impact enterprises need support now

Local impact enterprises are one of the most effective and sustainable routes to creating widespread change in developing countries, yet the economic and social disruption of the last 12 months has put otherwise healthy, high-potential businesses at risk.

Innovation, local know-how and presence, and a focus on addressing low-income household issues means impact enterprises are key in supporting vulnerable communities to successfully emerge from the COVID-19 crisis, which continues to threaten development a year on from the first case being recorded.

The impact of COVID-19 on these businesses presents a potential additional crisis in both the short and long term. Today, communities are still struggling to access crucial products and services, and in the long term, critical innovations could be lost if a generation of impact enterprises fail.
